DIY Adviser

Do it yourselfer Greg contacted us with the following question:

"The screws in the hinges of my kitchen cabinet doors are stripped out. What is the best way to repair stripped screw holes in wood? I think I remember reading something about using wooden toothpicks to fill the hole. Any ideas?"

We immediately emailed Greg with some ideas. We also created a video demonstrating our recommended method of filling the screw hole with wood filler, letting it cure, and then re-piloting the hole to fit the original screw. If you have suggestions for Greg please submit them as comments to this tip. We are sure Greg will appreciate it.
