This the second do it yourself episode in a series on building a standing floor mirror. We are designing and building a framed mirror that will stand on its own like an easel. In the first episode, we reviewed the design decisions and material selections and then cut the boards we will need to rough length and final width. In this episode we hand plane the mirror frame boards into a convex shape using a hand plane. It is a very doable do it yourself project.

This do it yourself project makes use of miter joints and biscuit joinery. A power miter saw, table saw, biscuit joiner, router table, and jointer are the tools used in addition to a block plane. Design modification and selecting pre-surfaced boards can dramatically reduce the number of tools needed and the degree of difficulty of this project.
